By accessing or using BodyFatWise (including our Body Fat Calculator, Navy & Army Body Composition Calculator, and related informational resources), you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please discontinue using this application.
Crucial Medical Notice: BodyFatWise is strictly an educational biometric calculation tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment plans. Never ignore professional medical counsel or delay seeking it because of information obtained through this tool.
2. Medical & Health Disclaimer
The formulas implemented in this tool (including the U.S. Navy tape measure algorithm, the Deurenberg BMI body fat formula, and the Katch-McArdle metabolic equation) are statistical regression models representing generalized population averages.
- Calculated values may vary from clinical modalities such as Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA), hydrostatic densitometry, or Bod Pod assessments.
- Consult a licensed physician, registered dietitian, or certified personal trainer prior to commencing any aggressive caloric deficit or intense conditioning program.
3. Military Tape Test Standards Disclaimer
While our military calculators faithfully replicate official Department of Defense Instruction 1308.3, OPNAVINST 6110.1J, and Army AR 600-9 mathematics, this application is not an official United States Government, Department of Defense, or military command software. Formal service tape test examinations must be administered in accordance with unit command directives by designated Command Fitness Leaders (CFLs) or Master Fitness Trainers (MFTs).
4. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall BodyFatWise, Prasad Reddy, or its contributors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use this service, or from decisions made based upon calculations obtained through this software.
